OBSTETRICAL CARE
The Women's Healthcare Group is a group practice and your care will be given by all physicians and by our certified nurse midwives. Our obstetrical nurse specialists will be assisting throughout your prenatal course. One of our physicians is on call at all times for your labor and delivery. We provide abdominal and transvaginal
ultrasound imaging in our office.
Our entire obstetrical team will become familiar with:
| |
Your medical history
| |
The progress of your pregnancy
| |
Your special requests
| |
Any special conditions or complications
* We meet weekly to discuss all high risk patients
Deliveries are performed at The Mother and Infant Center of York Hospital. Certain high risk pregnancies will be evaluated by Maternal Fetal Medicine at York Hospital for consultation as needed throughout the pregnancy.
A special feature of The Women's Healthcare Group is our obstetrical nurse specialists Beverly Markley, RN and Sue Myers, LPN, who are available to provide:
| |
Individualized prenatal classes
| |
Fetal heart monitoring in complicated pregnancies
| |
Follow-up care after your delivery
| |
Instruction on breastfeeding
| |
Counseling at any time between visits to answer your questions, address your concerns and offer reassurance
We at The Women's Healthcare Group foster an open-minded approach, allowing patients much input into all health care decisions, including management of labor whenever possible. If you are interested, we encourage you to design your own
birthplan. Please provide us with a copy of your birthplan so that we can review it with you and include it in your obstetrical records so it will be available at the time of your presentation for delivery.
